After a year's sabbatical for The Big Issue's 15th birthday celebrations last autumn, the enormously successful Big Issue Film Festival is returning in 2007. This November from the 27th to the 29th, short listed entries will be screened at The Barbican centre in London, Europe's biggest arts centre. Our finalists will then be judged by the festival's prestigious panel - previous judges include Michael Deeley (Producer of the Deer Hunter) and Dougray Scott (actor) - and the winning filmmaker will be presented with The Big Issue Film Festival award at the gala night on the 29th November.
The Big Issue's partnership with The Barbican allows us to continue fostering and promoting new filmmaking talent whilst offering entrants an opportunity to have their film screened in front of a wide audience of independent cinema fans and industry heavy weights.
Many thanks to all those who have contributed to making our previous festivals so successful, including our filmmakers, sponsors, judges and fans of independent film everywhere. We look forward to seeing you all again this year.
